In this formula, we divide your weight (in pounds) by the square of  your height  (in inches),  and then multiply it by 703.
                             weight (in pounds)
   =                     ------------------------------       * 703
                            height  square (in inches)
  

 For example, if someone's weight is 180 pounds and his height is 70 inches, his body mass index will be
            180 * 703
       -----------------    = 25.82
             70 * 70


2) Metric BMI calculator formula

In this formula, weight (in kilograms) is divided by the square of height (in meters) to get body mass index
                        weight (in kg)
       =       _________________
                 square of height (in meters)
  

For example, if someone weighs 75 kg and has a height of 1.80 m, his body mass index will be =   
                          75
                    __________ = 23.14
                    1.80 * 1.80

BMI classification


BMI classification can be done as follows:

18.4 or less -------- underweight
18.5 to 24.9 -------- normal weight
25 to 29.9 ---------   overweight
30 to 34.9 ---------   obesity (obese class i)
35 to 39.9 ---------   obesity (obese class ii)
40 or above --------- obesity (obese class iii)

suppose if someone's body mass index value is 22.4, then he is a person of normal weight.
And suppose if someone's body mass index value is 29.2, then that person is overweight.

Some limitations


Body mass index is an international standard of measuring obesity. But bodybuilders, or those who are too tall, or who are too short, and in the elderly; it is not considered the right standard for measuring obesity.
Otherwise, it is a satisfactory way to measure obesity in all other individuals (women / men).
