It is a liquid herbal medicine that is made
by the method of fermentation of ingredients like Arjuna (stem bark), Madhuka
flowers, Mrudvika (draksha or dry grapes), Dhataki flowers, and Jaggery in a
natural way. As its main component being Arjuna, it is called Arjunarishta. It
is also called Parthadyarishta.
Friends, it is a very beneficial medicine for heart-related
diseases. Here, without considering any Dosha such as Vata, Pitta, and Kapha (i.e.
without considering these), it can be given in all types of heart diseases. But
it proves to be very beneficial in Pitta -dominant symptoms.
Though the main ingredient of Arjunarishta is the bark of Arjuna
tree, that’s why it is very useful for heart ailments like controlling high blood
pressure, curing congestive heart failure, heart blockage, and cardiac
arrhythmia, abnormal heartbeat, ischemia, etc.
This herbal liquid is very helpful in the normal functioning of the arteries and it also strengthens the muscles of the heart so that the heart can properly perform its function of transporting blood throughout the body.
What are the Ingredients of Arjunarishta?
Friends, now I will tell you about Ingredients needed for
making Arjunarishta. These are:--
1) Stem bark of Arjuna tree ( i.e. Terminalia Arjuna )
2) Mrudvika ( Draksha or dry grapes )
3) Madhuka flowers
4) Dhataki flowers
5) Jaggery

What is the Method of making Arjunarishta?
Friends, To make Arjunarishta, first of all, you have to take
1 kg of Arjuna's stem bark, 200 grams of Madhuka flowers and 500 grams of
Mrudvika ( Draksha or dry grapes ) in a container and grind
them to make their powder. There is no need to finely crush them.
Now put 10 liters of
water in a vessel and mix these powdered ingredients in it, heat this mixture on
low flame and keep stir it occasionally.
You have to keep it on fire until the water remains
one-fourth, that is, 2 ½ liters, then it has to be removed from the flame and let
it cools down.
When this decoction cools down, and then adds 200 grams of Dhataki
flowers and 1 kg of jaggery. Mix this mixture well, close the lid of the
container and keep it in a dry, ventilated, and shady place for 1 month.
After one month
remove this container from that place and sieve this mixture. And the liquid part
you get after sieve is Arjunarishta.
What are the Arjunarishta Uses?
Friends, now I will tell you its uses and these
are:--
1) Arjunarishta is very beneficial for the heart
This herbal medicine is very helpful in the normal functioning
of the arteries and it also strengthens the muscles of the heart so that the heart can properly perform its function of transporting blood throughout the
body.
It controls
cholesterol levels. Friends, as it contains plenty of polyphenols and
flavonoids such as arjunone, arjunolone etc. which are very beneficial for the
heart.
It improves the efficiency of the heart so that the heart
maintains blood circulation throughout the body. It is a major Ayurvedic
medicine recommended by most Ayurvedic doctors in heart diseases.
2) It is rich in antioxidants
This herbal liquid is rich in antioxidants. It’s components
like Arjuna, Mahuye flowers, Daraksha makes it rich in antioxidants like
polyphenols and flavonoids. In this way, it also acts as a better general
tonic.
Its regular intake provides better antioxidants to the users
and it helps in keeping the body healthy. After the advice of the doctor person
older than 50 years of age can also use it as a general tonic.
3) Arjunarishta is also very beneficial in respiratory
problems

What is the Dosage of Arjunarishta?

Friends, You have to take 15 ml of this herbal liquid with an equal amount of water in the morning and evening.
That is, 15 ml (3 teaspoons) of Arjunarishta mixed with 15
ml of water.
This should be consumed after eating food in the morning and
evening.
Its dose should not exceed 60ml in a day.
Who should not consume Arjunarishta?
It should not be consumed by diabetics, pregnant women and
lactating mothers (who breastfeed their child).
Does Arjunarishta also have any side effects?
Friends, now the question also arises whether Arjunarishta have any side effects or not; then friends if it is consumed according to the advice of the doctor and in the prescribed dosage then it does not cause any side effects.
The prescribed dose means 15 ml in the morning and 15 ml should be taken in the evening and this dosage should never exceed 60 ml in a day.
Its maximum dose is 60 ml if taken beyond this amount it can cause adverse reactions such as reduced blood pressure (hypotension), Headache, dizziness, etc. otherwise it has no side effect.
It is a very good Ayurvedic medicine; and if consumed according to the doctor's instructions, it benefits a lot in heart diseases.
