How To Make Sprouts At Home


First of all, you wash the food you want to sprout, wash it thoroughly, and put it in a big vessel. Pour almost twice as much water as the food item in the vessel. 

Cover this vessel with a lattice or cotton cloth. And keep it at room temperature for 6 to 12 hours.

After that, remove the water from this vessel by filtering it out of the lattice/cotton cloth. After removing the old water, add fresh water again in this vessel and wash the germinating food item and remove the water. 

Now again cover this vessel with a cotton cloth and keep it for 24 hours.

Now small sprouts will come out of it. Wash it with clean water again and take out water and keep it covered for 24 hours. Now you can consume it. 

If some people want to sprout it more then they can do so. They can keep it for 2 days.

By this time, large sprouts come out of the food item. Now you can consume it and take full advantage of sprouted food

You can keep the remaining sprouted food in the fridge and eat it in 3 to 4 days.

Sprouts contain living enzymes and some bacteria. That's why these have been associated with bacterial foodborne illnesses like salmonella etc. In order to avoid these infections, wash food items to be sprouted properly. 

Also while storing sprouts keep your hands and jar clean.
