In winter, fingers of hands or feet of some people get swollen, it is also called chilblains (also known as perniosis).
It is caused by a sudden warming of the skin after its exposure to cold

Cold temperature can cause small blood vessels near the surface of
the skin to contract and if you warm up your skin quickly, this sudden change

leakage of blood into the nearby tissues. This causes swelling.
The swelling then irritates nerves in that area and cause pain. Chilblains may affect any
